Dead Pedal Install

Honda made a optional Dead Pedal that was a nice spot for your clutch foot to sit when not using the pedal. I’m not sure which models specifically came with them, I think Si and Ex models did. These were compatible in 90’s Hondas from the 92 civic up to the 2000 integra.

My Specific dead pedal came out of a 1994 4-Door Integra, but they are all the same.

A before shot of my pedals, don’t mind the carpet on the right side, I corrected that.

On the left side of the top of the carpet, there is a black plastic plug/screw holding it in place. Take a large flat head and unscrew it and it will eventually pop out of the clip and you can pull the carpet down.

You can see Honda was nice enough to add a pre-cut area even if your car did not come with one from the factory, which is super nice because there is not guessing work of where to cut a hole.

Simply grab the end and pull up and it will pull off revealing a perfect cut for the alignment pins and bolt holes.

You can see the plastic alignment pins here.

I placed the carpet back against the firewall and then pulled it back a few times to line up the hole placement, and then I just used a pick to stab into it and round up the holes until they were big enough to fit the plastic alignment tabs / bolts.

I used a couple of random 10mm bolts with washers I had in my stash, but I’ve linked the official part number at the top of the guide along with the pedal if you don’t have them. Push the pedal onto the carpet by GENTLEY lining up the pins first, once you feel those go in you can push it down so its flush with the carpet, I found it easier to start with the bottom pin and bolt, and then do the top. Then simply tighten down both bolts and your finished!
